Hi all,
IMustMakeThisFilm.com is a site I've created to chronicle my efforts to write, direct, and produce my films. You can read more about me here
My first film is Deployment Strategy, a 30 minute sci-fi film. You can read more about the film's plot here.
The site documents all aspects of my filmmaking process and serves as a way to reflect on my progress, learn more for the next time around, and hopefully, maybe, you'll learn a bit along the way! You can read about why I blog here or just jump straight to the blog entries themselves here.
There are several facets to making a film and I've tried to organize the information so you can find what you're looking for. Each blog entry is "tagged" with descriptive categories. If you're interested to read more about one of these topics, you can just click on the subject tag to read more entries about that topic!

Special FX
Very interested in the site and i love the movie! I'm an aspiring filmmaker myself interested in learning how to do basic special FX, like a muzzle flash from a gun etc. Is there a basic comsumer program i can use or its way more complicated than that?

thanks for your post! I use Adobe After Effects for my fx work. It's not cheap and not considered basic consumer level either, but it can do a ton of stuff. Check out this post here regarding muzzle flashes. I've actually posted a zip file of one of the muzzle fx from the film.
